![]() The first thing I did in game after it unlocks at the end of chapter 3, was to get all the FrontierNav (FN) sites in Primordia, since I knew it would be beneficial in the long run to get as many sites as early as possible. Due to some helpful threads on this sub-reddit, I’ve obtained a wide variety of probes and was able to accumulate information on their values and how they work. Hold on, that’s a bit early isn’t it, how come you know so much about probes? I just figured it out, I guess. Now you can have an idea of how time-consuming (and soul-draining) that grind is (considering the hours I’ve put in) I take my time with this game and I’ve spent much of my recent time completing the Collectopedia. ![]() I’m also Blade level 9, it feels to me like Blade levels are gained fairly fast, but then again, I have been min-maxing by switching divisions all the time. Update - As I finish writing this, I’m still at chapter 5, but of course with higher levels, more affinity and now 90+ hours. But I do know a lot, so I’ll use that knowledge to help others I will happily admit that I’m not the authority on probes, nor do I know absolutely everything about them. I main the Pathfinder division, but because I’ve got min-maxing OCD, I always switch divisions when doing stuff so I can maximise the gain of Blade points. As for how far I’m into the game, as I write this I’m about 65 hours in, the last thing I did was complete chapter 5, my main character is level 30 and most of my other characters are 20+, with affinity levels averaging at 1.5 hearts. I tend to enjoy helping other folks figure out how to do tricky things, I don’t know why, but I just get a kick out of it. I’m obsessed with probes and exploration is my favourite aspect of the game. Who are you and how far are you into the game? I’m just a regular person who also plays Xenoblade Chronicles X, but really I’m the Persistently Parkouring Probe-maniac Pathfinder AKA PPPP (maybe there should be an M in there, but I prefer the alliteration). Finally, income generated by probes is a requirement for certain quests. Miranium is also required for certain quests, it is used as a resource for crafting items and fuelling Skells. The late game requires absurd amounts of cash and other methods of obtaining credits can’t compare to the income one can gain by using probes. ![]() It is also used in crafting and can be used to add empty slots to gear. Miranium is required to upgrade Arms Manufacturers, especially since using AM gear in the field gives you barely any points to level them up. Ever wonder why there are so many reddit posts about ingenious ways to AFK in this game? Because probes work over time while the game is on! As for what it gives you, probes directly make money, they mine materials for crafting and they are also pretty much the only source of a resource in this game called Miranium. Why should I care about this probe mechanic? Cos probes are awesome! They give you things without having to lift a finger. this guide makes a wall of text look like an ant in comparison. ![]() Because the character limit on a Reddit post is 40k characters (10k for comments). ![]()
